According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, from today, December 1 to December 3, the North will maintain cold conditions at night and in the morning when the temperature in mountainous areas is generally 13-16 degrees Celsius, in the plains 15-18 degrees Celsius, and during the day the highest temperature is 24-26 degrees Celsius. Air humidity drops below 50%, making the weather dry.

From December 5 to 6, a cold spell with the strongest intensity since the beginning of the season will sweep down to the North, causing the average daily temperature to drop below 20 degrees Celsius.

The American website Accuweather predicts that Hanoi's temperature from tomorrow to December 4 will range from 21-27 degrees Celsius, then gradually decrease to 12-20 degrees Celsius by the end of the week.

At high points over 1,500 m above sea level such as Sa Pa (Lao Cai), temperatures will be from 13-19 degrees Celsius at the beginning of the week, then drop to freezing temperatures (average daily temperature below 13 degrees Celsius) from December 6. The coldest day of this period is December 7 with temperatures from 7-12 degrees Celsius.

The Central region in the first two days of December will have little rain, the Thanh Hoa - Thua Thien Hue area will be cold at night and in the morning. On December 3-5, the Central and South Central regions will be affected by the equatorial trough and disturbances in the upper East wind zone, so the provinces from Quang Binh to Binh Thuan will have showers and thunderstorms.

On December 6-8, the Central region will be affected by strong cold air, so thunderstorms will spread to many places. The provinces from Thanh Hoa - Ha Tinh, Quang Binh will turn cold from December 6.

From December 3 to 4, the Southern and Central Highlands regions will be affected by the equatorial trough, so there will be scattered showers. After that, the equatorial trough will weaken, and the rain will decrease in these two regions. On December 7 to 8, due to the diffusion of cold air, the weather will be cold at night and in the morning, with temperatures in the Central Highlands ranging from 26 to 29 degrees Celsius, and in the Southern region from 30 to 33 degrees Celsius.

In December, cold air is forecast to increase in frequency and intensity, with severe cold spells likely to occur in the second half of the month.
