Three Vietnamese players advance deep into the European Open

All three Vietnamese players above had to fall into the loser's bracket on the final day of the double qualifying round on August 10. However, they all won the decisive matches to enter the knockout round, with a total of 64 players.

Cong Thanh won the first place for Vietnam after defeating Greek player Antonis Kakaris 9-7. Before that, he was pushed to the loser's bracket by Quoc Hoang when the two compatriots met in the first match.

After beating Cong Thanh, Quoc Hoang defeated Jonas Kornmesser 9-3, but lost to Daniel Maciol in the final round of the winners' bracket.
