With his initiatives, Mr. Nguyen Duc Tran has helped Camex Vietnam Co., Ltd. (Ninh Giang, Hai Duong) save hundreds of millions of VND each year.
In 2018, Mr. Nguyen Duc Tran (born in 1983) in Thong Kenh commune (Gia Loc, Hai Duong) started working at Camex Vietnam Co., Ltd., specializing in the production of precision springs, stamping parts and mechanical products. With a bachelor's degree in mechanics and manufacturing, he was assigned to the Mold Processing Team. During the production process, he realized that the mold holder of the CNC machine had many shortcomings. Each mold model required a different type of clamp. Meanwhile, replacing the clamp was mainly done by hand, which took a lot of time and effort. Complex mold models also often had errors because the old fixture was unstable, so the machining was inaccurate.
With the desire to create more versatile and convenient clamping models, Mr. Tran researched on the internet and from friends and colleagues. After having the idea, he proposed to the company's Board of Directors to create conditions for him to carry out the project. With the company's support, Mr. Tran had more free time to research and come up with ideas. He could also use computers, CNC machines and available materials at the workplace to test-produce his new clamping models.
"To reduce labor and increase product accuracy, I determined that the clamp must operate fully automatically and can be used for many types of molds instead of just one like before. Thanks to the encouragement and enthusiastic support of the company's Board of Directors, I have many advantages to research and innovate," Mr. Tran shared.
In 2 weeks, Mr. Tran completed the air cylinder clamp model with many outstanding features compared to the old model. This product operates completely automatically through the air cylinder system. Thanks to the air pressure, the fixation of the sample on the clamp is more secure and stable during the turning process. The product is almost error-free. The clamp model has also been changed to be able to be used for many different items. "Since the air cylinder clamp model was put into use, our work has become much easier. Instead of having to manually remove the clamp like before, now we just need to press a button. Work productivity and labor safety have been significantly improved," said Mr. Nguyen Van Hop, a mold processing worker.
At the end of 2018, Mr. Tran was assigned by the company to be the Head of the Mold Processing Team due to his many positive contributions. With his passion for creativity, Mr. Tran proposed at least one initiative almost every year and was recognized and awarded by the company. In 2023, he continued to innovate a number of gas cylinder clamping models to serve new orders. In 2024, Mr. Tran was awarded a certificate of merit by the Provincial Labor Federation for his outstanding achievements in the movement of research, application of science and technology, and promotion of labor productivity.
