President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi said Egypt strongly and unequivocally rejects the targeting of civilians by both sides in the Gaza Strip as well as any violation of international law.
Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi on November 11 demanded an immediate, unconditional and sustainable ceasefire in the Gaza Strip as well as an end to the policy of forcibly relocating Palestinians to any location inside or outside their land.
Speaking at the Joint Arab-Muslim Summit held the same day in the Saudi Arabian capital Riyadh, President El-Sisi declared that Egypt strongly and unequivocally opposes the targeting of civilians by both sides as well as any violations of international law.
The Egyptian leader stressed that the international community has a responsibility to stop the bloodshed and address the root causes of the conflict. Accordingly, the international community, especially the UN Security Council, bears a direct responsibility to take decisive and coordinated action to achieve a ceasefire and end forced displacement.
President El-Sisi also called for safe, rapid and sustainable access to humanitarian aid, stressing the importance of reaching a solution based on the two-state solution, affirming that this is the only way to achieve security for all peoples in the region.
On the same day, on the sidelines of the conference, the Egyptian President discussed efforts to reduce tensions in Gaza in separate meetings with Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, Iraqi President Abdullatif Rashid, Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad and Jordanian King Abdullah II.
