On November 15, Hoan Kiem District Police prosecuted the two drivers who directly hit the victim for violating traffic regulations and disturbing public order.
18 people were prosecuted for disturbing public order. All 20 people were detained.
Previously, on the night of November 2, Nhung drove a Honda Vision motorbike carrying Phuong Anh, also 19 years old, to join a group of "crazy drivers" in Hoan Kiem district. The group consisted of about 20-30 motorbikes going in the opposite direction on Tran Hung Dao street at high speed.
At around 0:15 on November 3, due to not paying attention, Nhung crashed into a 27-year-old girl who was waiting at a red light at the Tran Hung Dao - Ba Trieu intersection, heading from Hanoi station to Hospital 108. At the same time, another car following Nhung rushed forward and continued to crash into the victim.
The victim then fell onto the road and died on the spot. After causing the accident, the group left the scene.
At the police station, Nhung confessed that she and her friend were riding a motorbike around the city taking pictures. When they reached the Hanoi Opera House area, she joined a group of about 20-30 motorbikes and sped up to "find an acquaintance". When they reached the Tran Hung Dao intersection, Nhung's motorbike collided with the victim's motorbike and both fell onto the road. When she woke up in the hospital, Nhung realized that she had caused a fatal accident.
