People in Phu Loc wine-making village (Cam Vu, Cam Giang) only make wine and do not raise pigs, so the environment has improved significantly.

According to the Gia Loc District People's Committee, by the end of 2024, Nghia Hy craft village had 79 families working in the leather and footwear industry (a decrease of 106 households compared to 2019), of which 27 households had registered businesses with 205 workers. Production households in the craft village mainly operate on a small-scale, retail production model.

Hoang Dieu Commune People's Committee has signed a contract with An Sinh Environmental Technology Joint Stock Company to collect, transport and treat footwear waste (about 800 kg from 4 craft villages, including Nghia Hy). The Commune People's Committee and the people have invested in and renovated many items and works, including the drainage system. Up to now, the collection and treatment of waste in Nghia Hy craft village has been basically guaranteed.

Garbage in Nghia Hy craft village (Hoang Dieu, Gia Loc) has been hired for treatment, so it is no longer discharged into the environment.

By the end of 2024, Phu Loc craft village will have 56 households and 2 wine production facilities with 137 workers (a decrease of 224 households compared to 2019).

To overcome the environmental pollution situation here, in addition to establishing a self-management team to protect the environment and strengthening propaganda for households to implement environmental protection plans, the People's Committee of Cam Giang district and the People's Committee of Cam Vu commune have renovated and upgraded the drainage system and mobilized households not to raise livestock in residential areas.

Although the environment in the two craft villages has improved significantly, wastewater collection and treatment is only preliminarily treated by septic tanks and biogas tanks, there is no centralized treatment system.

To overcome this situation, the People's Committee of Hai Duong province has included the project of collecting and treating wastewater in craft villages in the planning of Hai Duong province for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050, and has been approved by the Prime Minister in Decision No. 1639/QD-TTg dated December 19, 2023.

Previously, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment had listed 47 polluting craft villages nationwide and the environmental pollution treatment targets that need to be achieved according to Official Dispatch No. 2436/BTNMT-TCMT dated June 26, 2013 of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment. Hai Duong has 2 of the above craft villages.
