The Organizing Board of the Con Son-Kiep Bac Autumn Festival on October 5 morning (i.e. the 16th of the 8th lunar month) celebrated the 575th death anniversary of National Hero, World Cultural Celebrity Nguyen Trai at Nguyen Trai temple (Chi Linh, Hai Duong).
Mr. Nguyen Duong Thai, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Provincial Delegation of National Assembly Deputies, attended the event.
In his memorial speech, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Anh Cuong highlighted great contributions of National Hero, World Cultural Celebrity Nguyen Trai to the history of national building, fighting against aggressors, and fostering of the long-standing culture of the country.

In 1407, Vietnam was dominated by Ming invaders who caused terrible crimes. Indignant with the enemy and boiling with patriotism, Nguyen Trai went to Lam Son for a great cause, offered Binh Ngo Sach (Strategies to Pacify the Wu), and became the soul of the resistance war for national liberation.
Upon the victory of the resistance war, Nguyen Trai wrote Binh Ngo Dai Cao (Proclamation of the Victory over the Wu) on behalf of Le Loi in 1428. This is an incomparably powerful work, an immortal declaration of independence artfully summarizing the resistance war against the Ming invaders and affirming the independence and sovereignty of the Vietnamese nation.

With the great contributions of National Hero Nguyen Trai, in 1980, on the occasion of his 600th birth anniversary, the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) recognized and honored him as a world cultural celebrity.

A musical show performed at the ceremony by the Hai Duong Traditional Operetta Theatre
This year's memorial ceremony at Nguyen Trai temple was elevated compared to previous years. Apart from the death anniversary, proclamation and thankful sacrifice ceremonies were also held.
On the day of commemoration, from 7 am, the organizers arranged a funeral oration procession from Con Son pagoda to Nguyen Trai temple.
The procession moved in the following order: two dragon dance teams on two sides, people holding divine flags, gongs, drums, eight musical instruments, eight weapons, and trays with five types of fruits, monks, male and female sacrifice teams, representatives of authorities at all levels, the faithful, Buddhists, locals, and visitors.
