Ca Mau organized a crab king chef competition and set a record of 69 delicious dishes made from Ca Mau crab with the participation of many chefs from inside and outside the province and local people.

As part of the series of events of the Ca Mau Crab Festival - the first time in 2022, on the afternoon of December 25, at Thanh Nien Square, Ward 5, Ca Mau City, the Crab Master Chef Competition took place and set a record of 69 delicious dishes made from Ca Mau crab.
Accordingly, there are 15 teams participating in preparing dishes. Each team will prepare a set menu of 6 dishes including: 2 appetizers, 3 main dishes, 1 dessert. Of which, 2 dishes are prepared in advance (not counted for points) to participate in setting the record; the remaining 4 dishes, the teams will prepare a set menu including 1 appetizer, 2 main dishes and 1 dessert, with a time of 120 minutes to compete and set the record.
According to the Organizing Committee of the competition, the main dishes and appetizers must use Ca Mau crab as the main ingredient. For desserts, when choosing dishes, teams can consult the Coaching Board to choose suitable dishes. In special cases, desserts that do not use Ca Mau crab as the main ingredient must be decorated with symbols or images related to Ca Mau crab.
Each team prepares a presentation about the preparation, ingredients, nutritional value, meaning and origin of the dish. The dishes are beautifully presented in a modern style and in line with the theme “Ca Mau crab, the taste of the homeland”, ensuring food safety and hygiene.
After nearly 2 hours of exciting competition, Hoang Hon-Dat Mui Restaurant, Ngoc Hien District, Ca Mau Province won the first prize of the Crab Master Chef contest, with a prize value of 20 million VND. The second prize was awarded to the Real Crab Restaurant, Ward 5, Ca Mau City; Cantho Eco Resort and KTC Hotpot and Grill Restaurant won the third prize.
On this occasion, the Vietnam Record Organization awarded the decision to establish a Vietnamese record with the content "The event of processing and performing the most dishes made from Ca Mau crab in Vietnam (69 dishes)" to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Ca Mau province.
At the same time, this organization also awarded a certificate of Asian culinary and specialty record for the dish "U Minh fish sauce hotpot".
