Today, March 7, gold prices continued to "rise" as both gold bars and gold rings increased sharply and set new records.
Specifically, at 9:00 a.m., the price of gold bars at Doji was listed at 79.25 - 81.25 million VND/tael (buy - sell), an increase of 200,000 VND/tael (buy - sell) compared to early morning.
At the same time, the gold price at SJC was listed at 79.3 - 81.3 million VND/tael (buy - sell), an increase of 300,000 VND/tael.
This is the highest price in history for gold bars, surpassing the record of 81 million VND/tael re-established in yesterday's trading session (March 6).
Meanwhile, the price of gold rings this morning also continued to increase, breaking the old record and setting a new peak.
Accordingly, the price of gold rings at Doji is listed at 67.5 - 68.8 million VND/tael (buy - sell), an increase of 250,000 VND/tael (buy - sell) compared to early this morning.
At the same time, the gold price at SJC was listed at 66.8 - 68 million VND/tael (buy - sell), an increase of 150,000 VND/tael.
Domestic gold prices increased sharply due to the impact of world gold prices. Early this morning, the listed gold price on Kitco was at 2,148 USD/ounce, up 21 USD/ounce compared to early yesterday morning.
Thus, the world gold price has set a new peak when it surpassed the threshold of 2,148 USD/ounce, this is the highest level ever. The previous peak was set yesterday at 2,127 USD/ounce.
Gold prices continued to rise today as the market believes the US Federal Reserve (Fed) will ease monetary policy in June following Fed Chairman Jerome Powell's testimony at the hearing.
Accordingly, Mr. Powell said that an interest rate cut could happen this year. Reiterating the need for more evidence that the inflation war has been successful, the Fed Chairman said that inflation has fallen significantly. The USD saw a sell-off and US bond yields fell slightly after Mr. Powell's speech.
