Mr. Khoa said that after the family accused Thu Cuc International General Hospital of negligence causing the fetus to die in the mother's womb, the department sent an urgent dispatch requesting the hospital to check and verify the information reported.

"On April 11, the hospital received a report. According to the preliminary report, the hospital held a professional council meeting to evaluate the incident and met with the patient's family to explain," said Mr. Khoa.

Mr. Khoa added that in the hospital report, he also explained the incident reported by the pregnant woman's family. With this information, the department will send specialized staff to confirm the accuracy.

In addition, the case is currently being filed and requested for direction from the Ministry of Health and relevant authorities to continue to clarify the case.

Previously, on the afternoon of April 9, the family of Ms. TND (19 years old, residing in Hanoi) accused the hospital of negligence, causing the fetus to die in the mother's womb.

According to information from the pregnant woman's family, Ms. D. is pregnant with her first child and has registered for a pregnancy check-up and delivery package at Thu Cuc International General Hospital.

According to the hospital examination form provided by the family, on March 15, when the fetus was 37 weeks and 5 days old, the couple went for another examination. An ultrasound showed oligohydramnios, a high fetal heart rate, and the fetus had an umbilical cord wrapped around its neck.

At this time, the pregnant woman's family asked the hospital to perform a cesarean section, but the doctors did not allow it.

Ms. D. was kept overnight for observation and discharged the next morning (March 16) with a diagnosis that the fetus was stable and instructions to return to the hospital for a re-examination if there were any abnormalities.

When returning home, the mother did not show any strange symptoms or have any abdominal pain, so on March 27 (the fetus was 39 weeks and 2 days old), she went to the hospital for a scheduled check-up.

Through ultrasound, the doctor diagnosed that the fetus had cardiac arrest and died in the womb.

The family believes that the doctors were negligent when they asked for a proactive cesarean section but did not perform it, allowing the mother to go home, leading to the fetus dying in the womb.
