Some people say that the beautiful scenery in Ha Giang is sometimes like a hidden gem, the more you polish it, the brighter it becomes, the more you explore it, the more interesting things you find.
Ha Giang is famous for its beautiful landscapes imbued with the identity of the charming mountainous region. In addition to famous destinations such as Quan Ba Twin Mountains, Nho Que River, Ma Pi Leng Pass..., Ha Giang also has many valleys and villages filled with unique cultural colors, one of which is the ancient village of Thien Huong.
Known by many as the “forgotten village”, Thien Huong ancient village is only 7km from Dong Van town center. It takes less than half an hour for visitors to reach this small village filled with cultural and historical imprints of the local people.
Thien Huong village is home to the Tay and Giay ethnic groups with only about 43 households. This place attracts tourists by its rustic and poetic beauty, preserved intact through each alley, house wall and lifestyle of the villagers.
Surrounded by majestic mountains and centuries-old trees, the peaceful village lies in a quiet space. Passing through the garden filled with the shade of ancient trees, the warm yellow-colored rammed earth houses and tiled roofs gradually appear.
The houses here are built in ancient architecture, with walls made of rammed earth, roofed with yin-yang tiles and rafters, and doors made of wood. The house is divided into 3 main areas and 2 entrances, surrounded by a fence made of sturdy stone, dotted with peach, pear, and plum trees, a very typical scene in the rocky plateau of Ha Giang.
Also bearing the mark of time like the ancient trees in front of the village, most of the rammed earth houses here are ancient houses with an age of over 100 years. Not only the landscape is preserved over time, but the lifestyle, customs and traditional festivals of the people in Thien Huong village are still fully preserved to this day.
Stepping through each alley and roof, quietly watching the simple life taking place here, it feels like time has stopped before the ancient and peaceful atmosphere covering the entire village.
Because it is not much affected by tourism, Thien Huong village still retains its original rusticity. Therefore, the road leading to the village is quite difficult and inconvenient, especially when it rains. However, if you overcome the initial obstacles, the trip to Thien Huong village will bring visitors a completely new experience when they are immersed in the scenery and peaceful lifestyle in the highlands.
Walk slowly to take in all the beauty of the scenery here, sip a sip of warm corn wine, the flavor of the mountainous region in Ha Giang lingers in the traveler's mind, making anyone who has been there look forward to returning to enjoy this peaceful atmosphere.
