Go to Bac Giang to visit Danh temple festival

Danh Temple was built during the Le Dynasty (18th century), on the top of Chung Son Mountain, 117 meters above sea level. Danh Temple used to belong to Hau village, Chung Son commune, Tuy Loc Son canton, Yen The district, Kinh Bac province. It now belongs to Hau village, Lien Chung commune, Tan Yen district, Bac Giang province.

Danh Temple Historical Relic Site is a cultural and religious work of the local people of Lien Chung Commune. Danh Temple Historical Relic Site has 3 temples including: Trinh Temple (at the foot of Danh Mountain); Thuong Temple and Mau Temple on the top of Danh Mountain. The temple worships Cao Son and Quy Minh, who were talented generals when alive, but after death became sacred gods, who appeared and helped people in the afterlife, saving people from disasters and calamities, and have been worshiped by people for many generations. Every year, on the occasion of Lunar New Year, welcoming the new year, right from the New Year's Eve, tourists visit and burn incense at Danh Temple. From the morning of the first day of the lunar calendar (Lunar New Year), tourists from near and far flock to the Danh Temple Historical Relic Site to enjoy spring and attend the festival during the first months of the first quarter of the year. The locality organizes a traditional festival for 3 days, including the 19th, 20th, and 21st of the first lunar month every year.

During the Lunar New Year holidays, every day thousands of tourists from near and far flock to the historical site of Danh Temple to visit and enjoy the spring of Quy Mao 2023.

Crowds of people flocked up and down the mountain to the Upper Temple and the Mother Temple.

After about 45 minutes of climbing, Mau Temple and Thuong Temple appear before visitors' eyes amidst a complex of ancient pine forests. Up high, the spring breezes continuously create sounds from the pine leaves singing and whistling in the sun. Visitors will feel all their fatigue disappear after climbing 450 stone steps to the temple.

Talking and exchanging with Mr. Duong Minh Hieu - Chairman of Lien Chung Commune People's Committee, Head of the Organizing Committee of Danh Temple Festival in 2023, confided: "This year, Danh Temple Festival is held on 3 days 19, 20, 21 (AL), January, i.e. 9, 10, 11 (DL) February 2023. The ceremony includes a procession of the gods; worshiping the gods. The festival includes a welcome performance program; singing on the tube, singing Lien Chung vi and art exchange; cooking rice pot competition; volleyball match; traditional wrestling; tug of war; swing playing... At the festival, there are booths selling and introducing local specialties to serve tourists such as Danh mountain ginseng; Lien Chung grilled spring rolls. Hopefully, tourists coming to Danh Temple Festival, Lien Chung Commune, Tan Yen District (Bac Giang) in the spring of Quy Mao year 2023 will leave an unforgettable impression of the land of Tan Yen, a spiritual land of talented people, which is flourishing and changing every day".
