Hai Duong has recorded two outbreaks of chickenpox in Nam Sach and Tu Ky districts and one outbreak of measles in Tan Dan ward (Kinh Mon). Most of the children infected in the outbreaks have not been vaccinated.
On the afternoon of January 8, a representative of the Hai Duong Center for Disease Control said that there were two outbreaks of chickenpox in the province with 23 children infected at Mac Thi Buoi Primary School, Nam Tan Commune (Nam Sach) and Van To Kindergarten (Tu Ky). All cases had not been vaccinated against the disease.
School representatives said that most of the children were infected in late December 2024 and there have been no new cases in the past 10 days. Most of the children were mildly infected and have returned to school.
In addition to chickenpox, there has also been a measles outbreak in Tan Dan ward (Kinh Mon) with 9 cases, most of them under 10 years old. Of these, 6 children have not been vaccinated. According to local authorities, no new cases have been recorded in the past 11 days.
Currently, the high temperature difference between day and night along with humidity is the condition for many infectious diseases to appear, especially diseases related to the respiratory tract.
The provincial Center for Disease Control recommends that localities strengthen surveillance and immediately implement preventive measures when cases are detected to avoid spreading.
