Organizing the Con Son - Kiep Bac Autumn Festival in 2024 ensures solemnity and thoughtfulness

On the afternoon of July 30, the Organizing Committee of the 2024 Con Son - Kiep Bac Autumn Festival met to discuss the organization of this year's autumn festival.

Comrade Nguyen Minh Hung, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Organizing Committee basically agreed with the proposal of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism on organizing the Con Son - Kiep Bac Autumn Festival in 2024. The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee noted that the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism should soon advise and prepare all necessary conditions to well organize traditional ceremonies, the Cultural Week, Tourism and Trade Promotion; and develop detailed scenarios for activities and ceremonies on the evening of August 16 of the lunar calendar.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Minh Hung emphasized that the organization must be carried out in accordance with the restored traditional rituals to honor the merits of famous people and preserve traditional cultural values; harmoniously balance the ceremony and festival parts, link activities with the task of introducing, propagating and promoting the historical and cultural values ​​of the special national relic site of Con Son - Kiep Bac in the process of Hai Duong province together with Quang Ninh and Bac Giang provinces completing the dossier of the Yen Tu - Vinh Nghiem - Con Son, Kiep Bac relic and landscape complex to submit to UNESCO for recognition as a world heritage site.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee proposed to soon establish sub-committees to develop and effectively implement the festival contents. The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism was assigned to complete the plan, decide on the assignment of tasks to the sub-committees, and promptly report to the Provincial People's Committee.

According to the Organizing Committee, this year's festival has many new features and highlights compared to last year's autumn festival. The festival will hold the opening ceremony of the Culture, Tourism and Trade Promotion Week, awarding prizes for the Hai Duong Province Tour Guide Competition. The 724th anniversary of the death of National Hero Hung Dao Dai Vuong Tran Quoc Tuan and the opening ceremony with a unique, large-scale art program, combining modern technology to match the relic site, to enhance the promotion of the outstanding global cultural heritage values ​​of the relic site during the process of Hai Duong province, together with Quang Ninh and Bac Giang provinces, submitting to UNESCO the dossier to nominate the Yen Tu - Vinh Nghiem - Con Son, Kiep Bac Monuments and Landscape Complex as a world heritage site.

In particular, this year's festival will be the first to display antiques on the morning of September 19 (August 17 of the lunar calendar), before the military parade on Luc Dau River. There will be about 10 booths displaying antiques, with activities of displaying, buying, selling, exchanging, and appraising antiques; displaying large, valuable artifacts, mainly artifacts from the Tran Dynasty, associated with proving the authenticity of the relic site during the process of Hai Duong province, together with Quang Ninh and Bac Giang provinces, submitting to UNESCO a dossier to nominate the Yen Tu - Vinh Nghiem - Con Son, Kiep Bac Monuments and Landscape Complex as a world heritage site.

The Organizing Committee is expected to invite delegations from Vientiane Province (Laos), Suwon City (Korea), and leaders of several provinces and cities to attend the festival.
