In the first 6 months of the year, the average income per person was 7 million VND/month, an increase of 7.6%, equivalent to an increase of 497,000 VND compared to the same period last year.

The Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs will submit to the Government 5 solutions to limit the wave of one-time withdrawal of social insurance.

In which, the average income of male workers is 8 million VND/month, female workers is 5.9 million VND/month.

That is one of the information presented by the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs at the Conference to evaluate the implementation situation in the first 6 months of the year, tasks and solutions for the last 6 months of 2023 in the field of labor, meritorious people and society held in Hue City on the afternoon of July 21.

At the conference, Mr. Le Van Thanh, Deputy Minister of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, said that in the first 6 months of this year, the number of employed workers increased by more than 900,000 people compared to last year, reaching more than 51.2 million people. Of which, more than 19 million people lived in urban areas.

The number of unemployed people of working age is 913,200 people, down more than 192,000 people compared to last year.

Mr. Thanh said the average income of workers is 7 million VND/month, an increase of 7.6%, equivalent to an increase of 497,000 VND compared to the same period last year.

Of which, the average income of male workers is 8 million VND/month, female workers is 5.9 million VND. The average income of workers in urban areas is 8.5 million VND/month, in rural areas is 6.1 million VND/month.

However, according to Mr. Thanh, the labor market still has many difficulties and potential risks when the demand of markets for Vietnam's main products decreases, causing businesses to lack capital, cut orders, and increase the number of unemployed workers.

"Employed labor tends to increase, but the labor market is not developing sustainably when the number of workers with informal jobs accounts for a large proportion," Mr. Thanh said.

Mr. Ha Minh Trung, Deputy Director of the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs of Binh Duong province, said that the province is one of the localities heavily affected by the global economic recession, reduced consumption causing many businesses to reduce 40-50% of export orders.

"Many businesses have requested to delay social insurance payments, reduce taxes and request more preferential loan policies," said Mr. Trung.

Mr. Dao Ngoc Dung, Minister of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs

At the conference, Mr. Dao Ngoc Dung, Minister of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, said that the ministry is consulting and submitting to the Government many policies to support workers and meritorious people in the coming period.

According to Mr. Dung, the industry's goal in the coming period is to advise the central government to change and issue new policies on social policies until 2030, with a vision to 2045. In which, there will be a strong shift from social security to social policy. Shift from caring for the vulnerable to caring for the whole society, including the middle class.

Mr. Dung also emphasized that in the next few days, the ministry will submit to the Government amendments to the Social Insurance Law to prevent the wave of one-time withdrawal of social insurance.

"It is expected that in the next few days, the ministry will submit to the Government for official comments on five solutions to limit the wave of one-time withdrawal of social insurance. After receiving the Government's consent, the ministry will ask the press to publish to get public opinion on this matter," said Mr. Dung.
