For the first time, a pedestrian overpass in Hanoi is "lit up" by the 'Aquarium Tunnel' project with 3D-shaped fish combined with contemporary artistic lighting.
Video and photo series of reporters recording the first "Aquarium Tunnel" on the pedestrian bridge in Hanoi:
Sharing with Tin Tuc newspaper reporter, artist Nguyen The Son - Curator of the Tran Nhat Duat Pedestrian Bridge Renovation Project, said: "With the theme of "water", our group has turned the pedestrian bridge into a light installation, like an "aquarium tunnel" with ocean fish swimming above the bridge arch. The theme of "water" has three 3D works: Including two paintings interacting with the bridge pillars into a zipper image of overflowing water and a painting of paper boats behind the dike wall. Along with that are the paintings "Carp jumping over the dragon gate" from the Hang Trong folk painting treasure".
The project to decorate the pedestrian bridge across Tran Nhat Duat Street (Hoan Kiem District, Hanoi) was carried out by a group of artists who have participated in many public art projects on Phuc Tan Street and Phung Hung Street.Artist Nguyen The Son (far right) is the leader of a group of artists who carry out art projects to recreate and honor Hanoi's heritage.Artist Nguyen The Son chose the theme of "water" with 2 3D drawings, interacting with the bridge pillars to form a zipper of overflowing water......and a 3D painting of paper boats behind the dike wall.
The foot of the stairs from both directions is designed with paintings of "Carp jumping over the dragon gate" from the Hang Trong folk painting treasure, reminding the learning and training journey of students climbing the stairs to school every day like the journey of "carp turning into dragon".
Along the corridor of the bridge is a light installation with the theme "Waves" by artist Le Dang Ninh, evoking memories of the waves of the Red River carrying alluvium throughout the history of the nation.
Interspersed among the waves is a recreation of the workers in Henri Oger's study of "Annamite Techniques."
The work "Aquarium" by artist Vu Xuan Dong evokes the feeling of an attractive aquarium tunnel with all kinds of models of ocean fish swimming above the bridge's arch.
Fish, squid, jellyfish… made from plastic bottles, plastic cups, plastic straws, recycled nylon… collected from all over the city.
Arrange ocean fish species that absorb light from the lighting system along both sides of the dome as well as the LED lighting system inside.
People are excited about the new look of Tran Nhat Duat pedestrian bridge.
With the theme of “Water”, interactive installations throughout the pedestrian bridge will transform the bridge into a collection of light installations.
Tran Nhat Duat pedestrian bridge is decorated with the theme of "Water", like a geographical link between the old town inside and outside the Red River dike.
This project also helps stimulate the habit of walking to explore cultural and artistic heritage in the city, a habit that has gradually developed again, helping to connect the community more effectively in recent years.
