In just over a month, some medical facilities in the province have admitted 5 children with Covid-19, the youngest of whom is 3 years old.
Representatives of the Health Sector Union presented gifts to children with Covid-19 being treated at the Provincial Hospital for Tropical Diseases.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Binh, Vice President of the Health Sector Trade Union, said that this year's International Children's Day is a bit special because in addition to encouraging and giving gifts to the children of cadres, civil servants, and employees of the unit, the trade union also cares about children with Covid-19 who are being treated at medical facilities. The trade union has allocated 3.5 million VND to give gifts to 7 children with Covid-19 who are being treated and quarantined. Although the gifts are not large, they are the encouragement and heart of the frontline doctors for the children.
The province currently has 39 Covid-19 cases being treated, including 7 children. Treating children with Covid-19 requires close coordination between relatives and medical staff.
In the sweltering heat of nearly 40 degrees Celsius, late afternoon of June 1st, we and the leaders of the Health Trade Union delivered gifts to unfortunate children with Covid who were being treated at the Tropical Diseases Hospital and the Children's Hospital. Doctor Nguyen The Anh, Deputy Director of the Provincial Tropical Diseases Hospital, came to encourage, visit the families and give gifts to the children. Doctor Nguyen The Anh said that like previous outbreaks, the hospital always had children with Covid-19. However, this fourth time, the number of children with Covid-19 was the highest. In just over 1 month, the hospital received 5 children with Covid-19, the youngest of whom was 3 years old. When a child in a family gets sick, both the relatives and the child are shocked and need the encouragement of medical staff. The doctors and nurses here must take good care, give thoughtful instructions and always encourage and stand side by side with the children's families. The parent of a 3-year-old child infected with Covid-19 on Chuong Duong Street shared: “This June 1st International Children's Day will be a memorable memory in the lives of the mother and child. 14 days ago, my child was infected with Covid-19, and my family and I were confused and worried because he was so young. After the first day in the isolation room at the hospital, I followed the 5K instructions of the Ministry of Health. The happiest thing is that after only 2 days of hospitalization, my child tested negative for SARS-CoV-2 and was separated from the room." Thanks to the encouragement and attentive care of the medical staff, after only a few days, the mother and child were no longer afraid and ate and rested regularly. Despite the heat, the staff at the hospital had to wear tight protective clothing, sweat pouring down, but they were still friendly and close to the patients. On the afternoon of June 1, after 14 days of treatment, with many negative tests for SARS-CoV-2, the child was discharged from the hospital and returned home to quarantine and monitor his health according to regulations.
On the first day of hospitalization, Ms. Th., mother of a 2-year-old child who had just contracted Covid-19 related to the Pham Hong Thai outbreak (Hai Duong City), just looked at her child and cried. Thanks to timely encouragement and attentive care from doctors and nurses, her child's health has improved since being hospitalized. Ms. Th. said that the stress, anxiety, and depression were relieved when her child received care and treatment and her health gradually improved.
