After two days of exciting competition, on September 15, the 4th National Excellent Mediator Competition (Northern region round) closed at the Viet Tiep Friendship Labor Cultural Palace, Hai Phong.

In the final results, the first prize went to Ha Tinh team; two second prize winning teams were Vinh Phuc and Hanoi; three third prize winning teams and eight consolation prize winning teams.

The Northern regional round includes 26 teams from the following provinces and cities: Bac Giang, Bac Kan, Bac Ninh, Cao Bang, Dien Bien, Ha Giang, Ha Nam, Hanoi, Ha Tinh, Hai Duong, Hai Phong, Hoa Binh, Hung Yen, Lai Chau, Lang Son, Lao Cai, Nam Dinh, Ninh Binh, Phu Tho, Quang Ninh, Son La, Thai Binh, Thai Nguyen, Tuyen Quang, Vinh Phuc and Yen Bai.

According to Deputy Minister of Justice, Head of the Organizing Committee of the contest Nguyen Thanh Tinh, the teams' performances were impressive, with moments of silence, contemplation, tension, moments of laughter and moments of emotion and tears... Hopefully, the echoes of the contest will create momentum and encourage the entire team of mediators to love their work more, continue to promote their spirit and responsibility to bring happiness to each family, peace to the community and further develop mediation work at the grassroots level, contributing to maintaining social discipline, creating a favorable environment for national development.

In general assessment of the quality of the Northern regional competition, Deputy Director of the Department of Legal Education and Dissemination Phan Hong Nguyen said that the competitions were better than previous competitions. Some teams integrated legal content and communication about mediation work through local art forms such as poetry, poetry, and songs. Many teams completed their competitions excellently. In particular, for the first time, the competition applied information technology to select the correct answer in the multiple-choice test. In addition, the participating mediators were very dedicated, enthusiastic, and confident. The competition performances were carefully invested in, thoroughly rehearsed, and videos and image clips were created to illustrate the introduction and skits.

Ms. Vuong Thi Trang (Bac Ninh team) shared that the contest is a great source of spiritual encouragement for judicial officers nationwide. Through this, the mediators have accumulated a lot of experience and qualities to solve mediation work in the locality.

Based on the actual competition results, the Organizing Committee decided to award additional prizes including: Team with style award; Team with good legal knowledge; Team with good experience in mediation work at the grassroots level... The Organizing Committee awarded prizes to the oldest mediator, Pham Ngoc Toan (Son La province); the youngest mediator, Ha Thuy Trang (Lang Son province); the best mediator who is a grassroots front official, Bui Nguyen Luong (Son La province); the team with the most impressive introduction was Phu Tho; the team with the most attractive skit was Yen Bai and the team with the most skillful mediation handling was Bac Kan.
