Returning from the 73rd Anniversary of the Traditional Day of Students and the Vietnam Student Association (January 9, 1950 - January 9, 2023) held on January 7 in Hanoi, Ms. Vu Thi Nguyen (born in 2001, from Quang Thanh commune, Kinh Mon), a final year student at Sao Do University, still felt proud and moved because she was one of 104 students nationwide to receive the "January Star 2022" Award. This is the result of the tireless efforts of this dynamic student.

Few people know that Sao Do University was not Ms. Nguyen’s choice at first. Due to a lack of luck, she was not able to get into her dream school. Through an acquaintance’s introduction, Ms. Nguyen learned that Sao Do University offered the major she wanted and studied at the Faculty of Tourism and Foreign Languages.

Right from the first days of entering the university, Ms. Nguyen tried to learn, strive in studying and participating in activities, movements, and volunteer campaigns organized by the class, school and locality. "Do not choose to live comfortably in the years when you can still endure hardship" is something she really believes in.

In 2019, when she was a freshman, she boldly registered to volunteer at the Con Son - Kiep Bac Autumn Festival, participated in voluntary blood donation, and joined the volunteer group to donate and arrange household items, supplies, food, clothes, etc. to support the people of Central Vietnam. She also participated in exam support to support students, helping them feel more confident when entering the exam room. Ms. Nguyen also actively participates in cultural and sports activities. In May 2022, she joined the volunteer group to support the 31st SEA Games in Hai Duong...

As the Deputy Leader of the Sao Do University Youth Union, Secretary of the Class Youth Union, with the motto of unity is strength, Ms. Nguyen always tries to build a strong class, helping each other develop in a positive direction to create impressions during her student years.

After nearly 4 years of studying at the school, this female student has won many certificates of merit from the Provincial Youth Union and the School Youth Union. Ms. Nguyen said that to achieve the results like today is a process of trying, accumulating experience, completing the smallest tasks and then striving to pursue great things.

“Nguyen is a responsible student, has a desire to contribute and always tries to be meticulous in even the smallest tasks. He is very respectful to teachers, sociable and friendly with friends. As a member of the school's Youth Volunteer Team, a key member of the art team, and a participant in the foreign language club, Nguyen is always at the forefront of all activities. Therefore, the success he has achieved is well-deserved. Teachers recognize that and he is an example for his friends to follow,” said Le Thi Huyen, Secretary of the Youth Union of Sao Do University.
