Farmers growing caltrops in Ung Hoe commune said that despite the unfavorable weather this year, caltrop productivity has still increased. Currently, each sao of caltrops yields about 3 quintals, an increase of 0.5 quintals/sao compared to the same period last year.

Traders are purchasing larva in Ung Hoe commune at 13,000 VND/kg, 3,000 VND/kg higher than last year. With this selling price, people earn about 2 million VND/sao.

Water chestnuts in Ung Hoe commune are mainly consumed in northern provinces and cities such as Hanoi, Hai Phong, and Nam Dinh. In addition, many traders also bring this "strange tuber" to the southern market.
