Special artifacts inside the Military History Museum are about to welcome visitors

In addition to the four national treasures, the new Vietnam Military History Museum is preserving more than 150,000 special artifacts from the early days of nation building and defense to the period of building and protecting the country from 1976 to the present.

The bronze statue of President Ho Chi Minh with the intelligence soldier is displayed in a solemn position in the middle of the museum. Uncle Ho paid special attention to the national defense intelligence force. In addition to meeting and talking with the officers and soldiers, Uncle Ho also thoughtfully sent letters every time the force held a conference.

The MK-81 and MK-82 bombs were used by the US in the air raids in North Vietnam. The MK-81 bomb contained 44kg of explosives with strong destructive power, had 4 wings, and would open after being released to slow down the falling speed, ensuring the safety of the aircraft when bombing at low altitudes. The MK-82 weighed 227kg, carrying 87kg of Tritonal explosive (a mixture containing 80% TNT and 20% aluminum powder) with very strong destructive power.

The Vietnam Military History Museum (Nam Tu Liem District, Hanoi) started construction in 2019 with a modern, multi-functional design, displaying more than 150,000 artifacts and 4 national treasures, and is expected to welcome visitors from November 1. The total floor area of ​​the main building is 64,640m2, with a total height of 35.8m, including 4 floors above ground and 1 ground floor. The outdoor area is divided into two wings displaying weapons and equipment such as 85mm cannons, 57mm anti-aircraft guns, PT67 tank number 555, MiG 17 aircraft number 2047, SU22 aircraft...

The exhibition halls are divided into 6 themes. Theme 1: The early days of building and defending the country; Theme 2: Protecting independence from 939 to 1858; Theme 3: Fighting against French colonialism, gaining national independence from 1858 to 1945; Theme 4: Resistance against French colonialism, 1945 - 1954; Theme 5: Resistance against the US from 1954 to 1975; Theme 6: Building and defending the country from 1976 to present.
