Director Khai Anh emphasized that "Tao Quan 2023" is an opportunity for the crew and audience to look back on two decades of performance and will have a completely new way of expressing it.
Tao Quan is always an attractive entertainment program during the Lunar New Year. Tao Quan 2023 is the 20th anniversary, so it will gather most of the artists who have participated in the program, and cannot lack familiar faces such as Xuan Bac, Cong Ly, Tu Long, Quoc Khanh, Quang Thang, Van Dung.
Mr. Nguyen Khai Anh, the program's director, said on VTV Connect: "Tao Quan 2023 is a special occasion for the crew, celebrating 20 years. We will have something for everyone to see the past. Costumes are always the highlight. Designer Duc Hung is starting to make costumes for the Taos. Hopefully the audience will have a spiritual dish at the end of the year," director Khai Anh shared.
People's Artist Cong Ly returns
This year's program has the return of the Nam Tao - Bac Dau couple, artists Xuan Bac and Cong Ly. In Tao Quan 2022, People's Artist Cong Ly was absent due to health reasons, while Xuan Bac "withdrew" due to work arrangements.

As a relative of People's Artist Cong Ly, MC Thuy Van once revealed that the male artist was under a lot of pressure when returning to Tao Quan 2023.
"Recently, I haven't talked to Cong Ly much. But I know he's under pressure and has a lot of worries. For a normal person, being sick is tiring, let alone a famous artist like him. Cong Ly's return to the stage is welcomed and joyful by everyone, but behind that, Cong Ly is under pressure on himself. Cong Ly is a responsible person. So he's even more worried about whether his appearance on Tao Quan this time will be as the audience expects or not?", Thuy Van shared.
New Apples Appear
In addition to the familiar veteran artists, the program also features young actors such as Duy Nam, Trung Ruoi, Manh Dung, Ly Chi Huy, Thai Son. The crew revealed that there will be new Taos to bring freshness. Among them, artist Thanh Duong will play the role of Energy Tao.

On the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the program Meet at the end of the year, on behalf of the Apple family, I wish all families all the best." This is also the first time artist Thanh Duong has appeared in the Apple. Therefore, many viewers have expressed their eagerness to "get to know" this new Apple.

Previously, Meritorious Artist Chi Trung revealed that he would return to play the Traffic God – the role that made his own brand. After 9 years of refusing this character, Meritorious Artist Chi Trung "erased the curse" to return. Van Dung and Quang Thang will still be the Health God and Economic God as every year. In addition, the remaining roles have not been specifically announced.

People's Artist Tu Long did not sing for the first time
In the VTV Connection program, People's Artist Tu Long shared that he will not sing in Tao Quan 2023. "We help each other to practice and create together. 20 years is an opportunity for us to look back on memories. I sing a lot in Tao Quan every year, but this year I decided not to sing anymore," People's Artist Tu Long revealed.

Having been with Tao Quan for 20 years, MC Thao Van feels very happy to return after a 1-year hiatus. Last year, the veteran MC was disappointed because she was not able to say the closing words of the program. This year, she confirmed that she will return.
The program also features the return of MC Thanh Trung and singer Minh Quan. Thanh Trung has played the roles of Health Tao, Farmer Tao, and Electricity Tao. In Tao Quan 2014, Thanh Trung played the role of a businessman who, due to business losses and debt, wanted to die but could not die. However, since Tao Quan 2014, the audience has not seen Thanh Trung appear in this program again. Tao Quan 2023 is the first time the male MC has returned in more than 10 years.

Meanwhile, Minh Quan gained attention when he played Thien Loi (2013) and Thien Loi Assistant (2015). This year, in addition to returning to play Thien Loi, he is also in charge of recording, composing lyrics, and arranging music.
The 2023 Tao Quan program is scheduled to be recorded for 3 days from January 6-8 and broadcast on New Year's Eve of the Lunar New Year of Quy Mao.
