Many new advances in diagnosis and treatment of stomach cancer

According to information from Thien Hanh General Hospital (Buon Ma Thuot City, Dak Lak), the 4th Conference of the World Gastric Cancer Club, which recently took place in Buon Ma Thuot City, updated many new advances with high practical value in the diagnosis and treatment of gastric cancer.

The conference gathered many international professors from Japan and Korea, along with leading experts from major hospitals such as Cho Ray Hospital, Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital, 108 Military Central Hospital, Hue Central Hospital, Central Cancer Hospital... and many doctors from across the country.

The conference took place over two days, including one day of demonstration surgery of gastric cancer cases and one day of scientific reports. There were 3 demonstration surgeries, 2 scientific reporting sessions with 30 quality reports.

Three demonstration surgeries on stomach cancer patients were broadcast live from Thien Hanh General Hospital. Hundreds of delegates had the opportunity to watch the surgeries through images transmitted live from the operating room to the conference hall.

This is a great opportunity for doctors to directly observe and learn practical surgical skills and experience from experienced surgeons; and to discuss and exchange about new outstanding achievements in the treatment of stomach cancer.

At the conference, many domestic and foreign scientific reports were presented, notably reports on new advances in pre-, intra- and post-operative diagnosis, multimodal treatment as well as new surgical techniques for treating gastric cancer.

According to doctors, this has great practical significance for professionals in particular and the fight against stomach cancer in general, bringing much hope to patients who are unfortunate enough to have the disease.

The World Gastric Cancer Club Conference is an international scientific event, held annually, starting from 2018, for experts and doctors from Vietnam as well as around the world to share treatment experiences and research on gastric cancer.

After 3 times of organization, this is the first time the conference has come to Dak Lak province. This contributes to consolidating and raising the position of medicine in the country in general, and the Central Highlands region in particular, and at the same time shows the great medical potential of Dak Lak province - with its position as the center of the Central Highlands region.
