Listen to the spring wind

Spring comes with the warmth of the spring breeze. Somewhere I hear the whispering of the wind and the trees excitedly entering spring and welcoming Tet.

After days of dry, cold weather, the fields were parched, the trees were bare, leaving only dry, skinny branches. Today the weather is getting warmer, with a light drizzle of tiny raindrops flying, signaling the coming of spring. Spring brings warmth in the spring breeze. Somewhere, I hear the whispering of the wind and the trees eagerly entering spring, welcoming Tet.

Tet comes, everyone in the family is reunited, warm and happy. People who work far away have the opportunity to return to their hometowns to celebrate Tet and welcome spring. In the far south, relatives there send messages "sending you a little bit of golden sunshine, sympathizing with the cold of the plowmen and planters with their sincere love here"... How poignant it sounds in the spring breeze when the peach blossoms are budding, the kumquat branches are laden with fruit to welcome Tet. Everyone is busy doing the remaining work of the old year. Preparing the altar, cleaning the house, the yard, pruning flowers and ornamental plants, eagerly welcoming the new year.

On the village road, people were bustling about, meeting each other with cheerful faces, bustling with laughter, joy after a year of hard work, asking each other if they had prepared for Tet yet? When would their children and grandchildren who work far away come home for Tet? Every now and then, a bus would stop at the entrance of the village. People returning to their hometowns brought a lot of Tet goods: jams, candies, incense, candles... In the countryside, they sent to their relatives in the city bundles of dong leaves, old coriander, bunches of onions, garlic, and a bright red-crested rooster to offer on New Year's Eve. Everyone was excited to welcome Tet, welcome spring...

Along the road down to the market, under the banyan tree, an old man sat in a deserted tea shop. It was cold, he looked up at the sky, at the people eagerly going to the Tet market, his mouth chewing betel. In some fields that had been watered early, plows and harrows were bustling in the fields. Following behind were storks quietly looking for insects to eat. Every now and then they would crane their necks to look at the machines, at the sky, then flap their wings and fly away. Swallows were seen flitting back and forth. Along with the flooding, the winter crop fields were also busy being harvested. Baskets of eggplants, cabbages, kohlrabi, potatoes... brought warmth and prosperity everywhere.

In the village fields these days, the concrete roads stretch out, the ditches are ready to bring water to the fields. The land of our homeland is being renewed every day, shining in the colors of spring.

Thinking of spring and Tet, people's hearts are filled with joy. The old people in the village go to the communal house and pagoda at the beginning of the year, praying for favorable weather, good health, and a prosperous business. The young men in the village make an appointment to go to the festival. Wearing old shirts, conical hats, black eyes, red cheeks, singing "The Cau River flows gently... When will our love and longing ever end... I miss you again!". Being immersed in the lyrics and singing, immersed in the village festival, the spring festival, my heart is excited, listening to the spring wind coming!
