According to Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Huy, an expert in natural disaster and extreme weather warning, tonight, the cold air mass moving from the Northeast to the Southwest has approached and caused rain in the northern mountainous provinces.
This cold air mass tends to move from North to South, and is forecasted to pass through Hanoi and then to the North Central region tomorrow (August 28), causing rain in these areas.
On August 29, the cold air mass will move to the Central provinces and cause rain from August 29-30.
Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Huy commented that because the cold air mass moves quickly, the rainy period is only about 1.5-2 days per location.
From September 1 to September 5, the weather in the provinces from Thua Thien Hue to the North is very nice, especially in the northern mountainous provinces, suitable for tourism activities, picnics and festivals during the National Day holiday on September 2.
According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, during the National Day holiday on September 2 (from September 1 to 4), the weather in the North, including Hanoi, will be rainless at night and sunny during the day. The highest temperature during the day will generally be 31-34 degrees Celsius, with some places reaching over 34 degrees Celsius.
From Thanh Hoa to Thua Thien Hue, there is little rain and sunny days. The highest temperature is usually 32-35 degrees Celsius.
From Da Nang to Binh Thuan, there will be scattered showers and thunderstorms, with the highest temperature of the day generally ranging from 31-34 degrees Celsius. During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning and strong gusts of wind.
The Central Highlands and the South will experience moderate rain and thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening, with some heavy rain and sunny days. The highest temperature in the Central Highlands is generally 27-30 degrees Celsius, and in the South it is generally 29-32 degrees Celsius. During thunderstorms, beware of tornadoes, lightning and strong gusts of wind.
Before entering the holiday season with beautiful weather, the Northern region and Thanh Hoa will experience moderate rain, heavy rain and thunderstorms, locally very heavy rain from the night of August 27 to the end of August 28, with common rainfall of 40-70 mm, in some places over 150 mm.
From the evening of August 28-29, Nghe An to Quang Binh will have moderate rain, heavy rain and thunderstorms, locally very heavy rain with common rainfall of 20-50 mm, some places over 100 mm. From the evening of August 29 to August 31, heavy rain is likely to move down to the Central Central region.
On the afternoon and evening of August 28, in the Central Highlands and the South, there will be scattered showers and thunderstorms, locally moderate to heavy rain with rainfall of 10-30 mm, in some places over 60 mm. Thunderstorms and localized heavy rain in this area will continue for many days to come.
