The impersonator used an ambiguous name related to the 108 Central Military Hospital, copied the logo and cover photo of the hospital's official fanpage to sell illegal drugs.
Recently, a clip has appeared on social media impersonating a doctor from Military Hospital 108 for personal gain. (Photo: Provided by the hospital)
On May 17, information from the 108 Central Military Hospital said that the unit had received a clip in which a character claiming to be a doctor from the hospital shared and introduced a book called "Eastern Dietary Wisdom."
In particular, this person affirmed that only reading and following the book can cure people, not modern medical methods.
This clip was shared by someone on his personal Facebook page named HVN (with 203,000 followers), attracting more than 1,600 interactions and hundreds of shares and comments.
This unintentionally caused many gullible people to believe that "Doctor 108 Military Hospital" had affirmed that simply applying "natural healing therapy" would "cure all diseases."
Then, the owner of the Facebook page named HVN will lead people to buy the functional foods that he sells.
According to the representative of the 108 Central Military Hospital, impersonating and using the brand name "Doctor of the 108 Central Military Hospital" for personal gain, buying and selling functional foods, medicines, books, etc. can seriously affect people's health, create false and "distorted" thoughts in caring for and protecting the health of the community; at the same time, affect the reputation of the hospital.
108 Central Military Hospital confirmed that the hospital has only one address at No. 1, Tran Hung Dao Street, Hai Ba Trung District, Hanoi.
Hospitals and hospital staff do not sell functional foods and do not sell drugs outside the hospital, especially through social networking sites.
People need to be extremely alert and cautious to avoid being taken advantage of and deceived by bad guys, leading to "losing money and getting sick".
