Announcement ceremony to open Con Son - Kiep Bac spring festival

The Organizing Committee, local authorities and people of Hung Dao commune carry offerings to the Silver yard in front of the Tran Hung Dao Temple to ask for permission to open the Con Son - Kiep Bac spring festival.

At exactly 8 o'clock, members of the Organizing Committee, the government, people of Hung Dao commune (Chi Linh city), the sacrificial team and visitors from all directions respectfully offered incense, flowers, offerings, vegetarian and non-vegetarian offerings at Bac's yard, in front of the temple of Saint Tran according to traditional rituals.

The sacrificial team consisting of local elders held a ceremony to pray for the people's safety, national peace, favorable weather, bountiful harvests, the elimination of diseases, and world peace; and to pray for the spring festival to take place smoothly and safely.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Trung, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the Organizing Committee of the Con Son - Kiep Bac Spring Festival, offered incense at the announcement ceremony.

The Cao Nieu ceremony is an indispensable ritual before each festival to report to the Buddha and ask for permission to open the festival. This is the first ritual, opening a series of traditional rituals, folk games, competitions... at the Con Son - Kiep Bac Spring Festival this year.

After a period of only organizing a shortened ceremony due to the impact of the Covid-19 epidemic, this year, the Con Son - Kiep Bac Spring Festival was held with full ceremony and festival parts.

The elders held a ceremony to pray for national peace and prosperity, and for the spring festival to take place smoothly and safely.

Before the opening ceremony on February 6 (January 16), there will be a competition to wrap Chung cake and pound Day cake; a cake offering ceremony and a sacrificial ceremony at Nguyen Trai Temple and Tran Nguyen Dan Temple. After the opening ceremony, there will be a ceremony to worship heaven and earth on Ngu Nhac Mountain (February 7), the death anniversary of the third founder of Truc Lam Huyen Quang, and the Mong Son food offering ceremony (February 13).

The spring festival activities mainly take place at Con Son relic. On this occasion, at Kiep Bac relic, there are also many activities such as the offering of Chung cake and Day cake; folk games, the highlight is the Cultural Tourism and Trade Promotion Week.
