On March 15, Thanh Mien District People's Court sentenced Tran Ngoc Duy in Pham Lam village, Doan Tung commune to 2 years in prison for theft of property.

According to the indictment of the People's Procuracy of Thanh Mien district, at about 9:40 a.m. on December 7, 2022, Duy climbed the wall and broke the door of the house of Mr. Pham Dinh Thao, born in 1969, living in the same neighborhood, to steal 11 million VND. At the trial, the defendant admitted that all the stolen money was deposited into an online game account.
Before committing the crime, defendant Tran Ngoc Duy was sentenced to 11 months in prison by the People's Court of Binh Giang District for theft. During his time on bail, defendant Duy did not learn from this and continued to commit crimes. Therefore, the Thanh Mien District Trial Council sentenced defendant Tran Ngoc Duy to 13 months in prison for theft, plus 11 months in prison from the December 20, 2022 verdict of the People's Court of Binh Giang District. Tran Ngoc Duy's total sentence is 24 months in prison.
