Thanh Mien rice paper craft village creates jobs and good income for workers

According to a survey by the People's Committee of Thanh Mien district, the district's craft villages are creating jobs for nearly 800 rural workers. Workers in the three craft villages producing cooked rice paper and grilled rice paper in Chi Lang Nam, Chi Lang Bac and Doan Tung communes have high incomes, averaging VND8 million/person/month.

This income is high in the province's craft villages. The reason is that the rice paper products of the craft villages are popular in the market and have good consumption.

The two bamboo weaving villages of Dan Giap (Thanh Giang commune) and Nai Tri rope weaving (Ngu Hung commune) have few workers and low income, only 1-2 million VND/person/month.

Thanh Mien district has 7 craft villages recognized by the People's Committee of Hai Duong province, but 2 craft villages making wall paintings, crocheting yarn for export in An Duong village (Chi Lang Nam commune) and embroidery, crocheting yarn for export, bamboo mosaic paintings in La Ngoai village (Ngu Hung commune) are no longer operating. In 2022, the People's Committee of Thanh Mien district proposed the Provincial People's Committee to revoke the recognition certificates of these 2 craft villages.
