Northern region cool, warning of thunderstorms with lightning

According to the latest news from the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, on May 3, the weather in the North and Thanh Hoa will have moderate rain and thunderstorms, locally heavy to very heavy rain with rainfall from 20-40mm, in some places over 80mm.

The North and Central Central regions have scattered showers and thunderstorms, locally heavy rain with rainfall from 15-30mm, some places over 70mm. Rain is concentrated in the late afternoon and evening.

During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind. Localized heavy rain can cause flash floods on small rivers and streams, landslides on steep slopes and flooding in low-lying areas. Warning level of natural disaster risk due to tornadoes, lightning and hail is at level 1.

Meanwhile, the hot weather continues in the Northwest, Central and Southern regions. Today in the area from Quang Nam to Binh Thuan and tomorrow (May 4) in the Northwest and from Thanh Hoa to Phu Yen there will be hot weather, some places will be extremely hot with the highest temperature commonly ranging from 35-37 degrees, some places above 38 degrees; the lowest relative humidity commonly ranges from 50-55%.

The South has hot and extremely hot weather, some places are especially extremely hot with the highest temperature commonly ranging from 35-38 degrees, some places above 39 degrees; the lowest relative humidity commonly ranges from 45-50%.

Thua Thien Hue, Da Nang and the Central Highlands regions have localized heat with the highest temperature in some places above 35 degrees.

The meteorological agency predicts that from May 5, the widespread heat wave in the above areas is likely to end.
