Three former police officers of Dai Nghia town (My Duc district, Hanoi) were prosecuted for theft after shooting dead a goat belonging to a local resident and putting it in the trunk of a car.
On July 7, the Hanoi People's Procuracy approved the Decision to prosecute the accused and the Order to temporarily detain former Captain Nguyen Van Nhan, former Senior Lieutenant Bui Dinh Viet and former Senior Lieutenant Bui Tien Tung for the act of Theft of property. According to Hanoi City Police, at noon on June 26, the three police officers drove a car, carrying an air gun, to the Mao Ga mountain area (Ai Nang village, An Phu commune, My Duc district) to shoot birds. While hunting, the group shot dead two goats belonging to local people and put them in the trunk of the car, then left. When they arrived at the Ai Nang bridge area, An Phu commune, the group was discovered and stopped by local people.
Immediately after receiving the information, the Director of Hanoi City Police Department directed the professional departments of the City Police Department and My Duc District Police Department to urgently investigate, verify and clarify the incident.
On June 27, the Hanoi Police Investigation Agency issued a decision to prosecute a criminal case of property theft that occurred on June 26 in An Phu commune, My Duc district; decided to temporarily detain Nguyen Van Nhan, Bui Dinh Viet and Bui Tien Tung for investigation and strict handling according to the provisions of law.
On the same day, June 27, Director of Hanoi City Police Nguyen Hai Trung signed a decision to strip the title of People's Police of the three police officers of Dai Nghia town mentioned above.
