Opening of Hanoi International Gift and Handicraft Fair

On the afternoon of October 1, at the National Exhibition Palace of Architecture and Construction Planning (Hanoi), the Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade organized the 12th Hanoi International Handicraft Gift Fair - 2023 (Hanoi Giftshow 2023).

Speaking at the ceremony, Ms. Tran Thi Phuong Lan, Acting Director of the Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade, said that this Fair demonstrates Hanoi's support in creating a favorable and effective production and business environment for the sustainable development of enterprises and production establishments, especially enterprises and production households in craft villages of Hanoi and other provinces and cities nationwide. This is also one of the events to celebrate the 69th anniversary of the Liberation of the Capital (October 10, 1954 - October 10, 2023).

Through the Fair, businesses and handicraft production establishments have many favorable opportunities to promote and introduce typical and creative handicraft products that meet export standards in EU and G7 markets; find customers, connect businesses, and expand markets.

The fair also helps importers have the opportunity to trade with businesses and production facilities of the handicraft industry in Hanoi in particular and Vietnam in general; at the same time, continue to bring the handicraft industry of Hanoi and Vietnam to friends around the world, promote exports and sustainable development of the Vietnamese handicraft industry.

Hanoi has more than 1,350 craft villages with about 176,000 households, accounting for 45% of the total number of craft villages in the country. The fair displays groups of industries including: handicrafts, wooden products, rattan and bamboo, ceramics, glass, textiles, yarn, embroidery, knitting, small mechanics, processing and preserving agricultural products.

The products of the craft village are diverse, with many types, beautiful designs, good quality and have competitive advantages in domestic and foreign markets, including: Garment products, ceramics, traditional weaving and embroidery... Many products have been exported to markets such as: Japan, USA, EU, Russia and some Asian and Southeast Asian countries.

The fair runs until October 4, 2023.
