During the Lunar New Year 2024, hotels and accommodations in Sa Pa are almost fully booked.
On this occasion, Sa Pa town organizes many cultural activities, special tourism programs to serve tourists and prepares the best accommodation conditions to welcome visitors to the National Tourist Area.
Specifically, the room booking rate on the 2nd day of Tet in Sa Pa reached about 55%; from the 3rd to 5th day of Tet reached 97%, mainly concentrated in the mid-high-end segment in the central area. Particularly for community tourism spots, the average capacity reached 45%, most concentrated in Ta Van and Muong Hoa communes. Restaurant, cafe and tourist attractions services will resume operations from the 2nd day of Tet to ensure conditions for serving tourists.
It is estimated that during the 2024 Lunar New Year holiday, Sa Pa will welcome over 100,000 visitors, an increase of more than 11,000 compared to the same period in 2023. The peak is on February 12 and 13 (ie the 3rd and 4th days of Tet), Sa Pa will welcome about 65,000 visitors.
Notably, people choose small group tours and private tours, instead of joining large group tours like in previous occasions. The locations chosen by the groups are also deserted or isolated resorts, avoiding crowded places.
To attract and create appeal to domestic and foreign tourists, on the morning of February 7, the People's Committee of Sa Pa town organized the opening ceremony of "Sa Pa Cultural Space - Convergence of the Quintessence". This is a unique architectural and construction complex with miniature landscapes simulating the majestic landscapes of Sa Pa, such as Muong Hoa terraced fields, Fansipan peak... combined with the display of native flowers of Sa Pa such as peach blossoms, ancient peach blossoms, Hoang Lien rhododendrons, mai flowers...
In particular, at the center of the space “Sa Pa - the convergence of quintessence” is the image of the dragon mascot - the symbol of the year of the Dragon made of trees and flowers of the majestic Sa Pa land. Nearby is the largest pot of Tran Mong Sa Pa orchids ever with 2,024 blooming flowers.
Sa Pa in spring is blessed with brilliant natural scenery and spring festivals rich in cultural identity, so this place is always a favorite tourist destination at the beginning of the new year. During the Lunar New Year of Giap Thin, in the center of Sa Pa town, folk games will be held from February 12-14 (ie the 3rd-5th day of Tet) in the San Quan area. The locality also organizes folk cultural festivals in villages such as the Xoe Festival of the Tay ethnic group in Muong Bo commune, on February 15 (ie the 6th day of Tet); Gau Tao Festival of the Mong ethnic group in Hoang Lien commune on February 17 (ie the 8th day of Tet); Put Tong and Cap Sac Festival of the Dao ethnic group in Ta Phin commune on February 18 (ie the 9th day of Tet); Going to the Field Festival of the Giay ethnic group in Ta Van commune on February 22 (January 13)...
During the 2023 Lunar New Year holiday, Sa Pa welcomed 88,815 visitors, of which about 2,316 were international visitors. Total revenue is estimated at over 305 billion VND.
