Honda recalls 3 large displacement motorcycle models in Vietnam

October 18, 2022 12:01

Honda Vietnam is recalling 76 large-displacement motorcycles related to the ECU operating software.

Mẫu Honda Gold Wing sản xuất trong khoảng thời gian từ 12/2019 - 6/2021 sẽ nằm trong diện triệu hồi.

Honda Gold Wing models manufactured between December 2019 and June 2021 are subject to recall.

According to the Vietnam Register, the vehicles included in this recall include the CBR1000RR-E Fireblade, Africa Twin and Gold Wing. There are a total of 76 vehicles subject to recall and all were manufactured between December 2019 and June 2021.

The reason why vehicles may suddenly stall is due to an error in the ECU control program, affecting the operation of the injector and ignition assembly, causing the engine to stop working.

Vehicles of the same type as the 76 recalled vehicles, although not imported and distributed by Honda Vietnam, will also be supported for processing.

Honda Vietnam also said that there have been no cases in the Vietnamese market. However, the company recommends that if customers notice the above signs, the temporary solution is to turn off the ignition and restart the vehicle, and contact a Honda large-displacement vehicle dealer for support.

The recalled vehicles will be inspected and have their engine control unit (ECU) software updated completely free of charge. The estimated time to fix the error is about 30 minutes/vehicle. The recall program starts from October 24, 2022 to October 24, 2024.

Products of the same type not imported and distributed by Honda Vietnam will also be supported for inspection and repair.

It is known that in early June 2022, Honda Vietnam (HVN) had to recall more than 400 Civic and HR-V cars manufactured in 2022 in Thailand to replace the driver's seat cushion frame.
