Many peach trees in Ta Xua bloom early from October, bringing a different experience to tourists who come here during the cloud hunting season.
From mid-October, the road from Yen Bai to Ta Xua has many peach trees blooming early. October is the season of cloud hunting on the top of Ta Xua, many tourists who know the news of blooming flowers have flocked to check in with the flowers.
Ta Xua, located at an altitude of 2,800 m above sea level, is one of the highest peaks in Vietnam, located in Bac Yen district, Son La, bordering Tram Tau district, Yen Bai. Ta Xua is 240 km from Hanoi, with a cool climate all year round. In addition to being famous for its floating sea of clouds, the mountain peak also attracts tourists to admire the peach blossom gardens that usually bloom from early December to February.
Le Huu Ai, 32 years old, living in Phu Quoc, traveled alone by motorbike from Hanoi to Tram Tau to trek Ta Chi Nhu to see the chi pau flowers. He changed direction to Ta Xua on October 19 when he learned that peach blossoms were blooming and postponed his trekking to next week.
Ai said that he first came to Ta Xua in 2017, when there were not many tourists. Ta Xua with its wild beauty, cool climate, and valleys of floating white clouds made a strong impression on him. The Southern guy wanted to experience the magical scenery of Ta Xua again, so he decided to visit this time.
The male tourist said that the road from the center of Ta Xua commune turns to Xim Vang, the road to Hang Dong and the area near Dinosaur's Back - a famous cloud hunting place, has many blooming peach trees.
Peach blossoms in Ta Xua are light pink, swaying in the autumn wind, bringing a warm feeling in the cold weather of the Northwest highlands.
"Peach blossoms bloom amidst majestic mountains and drifting clouds, creating a fairy-tale-like scene," Ai said.
Peach trees in the gardens of local people and along the paths leading to Mong villages bloom early. Most Mong houses in Ta Xua still maintain their simplicity, with a fireplace, corn drying racks, and an altar inside, following Mong tradition.
''You can chat with them to understand more about their lifestyle, but before entering their house, you need to ask permission,'' Ai said.
Peach trees in Ta Xua include wild peach trees, rock peach trees, and in some places, bell-shaped peach trees. This type of flower usually grows on sturdy old tree trunks. From afar, the peach branches look like dry, moldy gray firewood, but when you get closer, you will see that the flowers are in bloom. Ai said that to see the most beautiful peach trees, visitors have to go deep into the villages. The road is a bit difficult, but in return, the reward will be beautiful scenery.

Ai said that the road to Ta Xua is currently convenient and this is also the ideal time to hunt clouds. With a three-day, two-night trip to Ta Xua, Ai spent less than two million VND on accommodation, transportation, and coffee.

To get to Ta Xua, from Hanoi, visitors take a bus to Bac Yen town bus station and then rent a car to go about 15 km further. Visitors can rent a motorbike or go by car to move around independently.
The Kien Giang boy believes that the early peach blossom season in Ta Xua makes this place even more attractive, like "experiencing early winter in Ta Xua".
