Breakthrough in intra-provincial connectivity

With the goal of becoming a modern industrial province and the industrial center of the Red River Delta by 2030, Hai Duong has planned inter-district space to exploit and make the most of the potential and strengths of each place.

Identifying transportation as a key factor, the “blood vessel” of connection, Hai Duong has invested heavily in transportation projects in recent times. Many projects have been completed, are being implemented and continue to be implemented on 4 key transportation axes, playing a role in connecting regions in the province.

These 4 new inter-regional traffic axes, including 13 projects with a total investment of about 9,330 billion VND, will be the launching pad for the province's socio-economic development to take off. The traffic axes include: Vu Cong Dan Street (Hai Duong City) to Ke Sat Town (Binh Giang) connecting to the Hanoi - Hai Phong Expressway Interchange at Provincial Road 392; the interchange with National Highway 5 in Kim Xuyen Commune (Kim Thanh) on the axis connecting Hai Duong Province and Hai Phong City; National Highway 5 in the Lai Vu Bridge area to Thanh Ha Town, through Hop Thanh Bridge to the Hanoi - Hai Phong Expressway Interchange; National Highway 5 connecting National Highway 18 from Hai Duong City through Han Bridge in Nam Sach District to Tan An Bridge in Chi Linh City.

Besides the 4 inter-regional traffic axes that are being urgently invested in and built, localities in Hai Duong are also simultaneously implementing many traffic projects to connect with the main axis.

In addition to efforts to create connections between regions within the province, Hai Duong is very active in connecting and cooperating with neighboring provinces and cities to promote competitive advantages. The province's role is clearly demonstrated in connecting the eastern expressway axis and connecting and developing the Red River Delta region.

The connection of the eastern expressway axis (Hanoi - Hai Phong - Mong Cai expressway) will be implemented from July 2022 on the basis of agreement and consensus between the four provinces and cities of Hai Phong, Quang Ninh, Hung Yen, Hai Duong and the Vietnam Federation of Commerce and Industry (VCCI). Hai Duong has made important contributions and actively participated in trade forums, enterprises, industrial parks, and green economic development in the connection of this expressway axis.

The traffic projects connecting with Quang Ninh, Hung Yen provinces and Hai Phong city will be a bridge for localities to have more favorable conditions for connection, cooperation and investment. Hai Duong and localities in the eastern expressway axis are actively implementing traffic projects with the highlight being the bridges over the river. These are the investment projects to build Hai Hung bridge over Chanh river connecting Hai Duong with Hung Yen; bridges over Han Mau river, over Kinh Thay river connecting Hai Duong with Hai Phong city. In addition to the traffic projects connecting localities in the eastern expressway axis, the province is also implementing traffic projects connecting with Kenh Vang bridge (Bac Ninh) and Dong Viet bridge (Bac Giang) to expand regional connectivity in many directions.

Mr. Bui Xuan Loc, Chairman of Kinh Mon Town People's Committee, said that in 2021, Trieu Bridge and Dinh Bridge across Kinh Thay River connecting the town with Quang Ninh Province and Hai Phong City have opened up many development opportunities for the locality. Convenient trade creates a great advantage in attracting investment. Regional connectivity contributes to promoting the town's economic growth to reach double digits. In the coming time, according to the province's orientation, Kinh Mon will continue to coordinate in implementing a number of inter-regional transport projects.

Located in the national dynamic region - the Red River Delta, Hai Duong is gradually affirming its important position, creating connections throughout the region.

By participating in the Red River Delta Coordination Council, Hai Duong will have many advantages in mobilizing resources and leading investment with other provinces and cities in the region. This is also an opportunity for the province to soon realize its socio-economic development goals according to the orientation.

In addition to connecting to serve economic development, in recent times, Hai Duong has also made a mark of close cultural and tourism connections when coordinating with Quang Ninh and Bac Giang provinces to build a dossier and propose to recognize the Yen Tu - Vinh Nghiem - Con Son and Kiep Bac complex as a world heritage.
