Hai Duong has just been provided with tens of thousands of doses of various vaccines to carry out the expanded immunization program, including the "5 in 1" vaccine, which has been in constant shortage for a long time.
On the morning of April 25, Deputy Director of the Hai Duong Province Center for Disease Control Hoang Van Huynh said that the National Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology has approved a plan to provide vaccines in May and June for 28 provinces and cities in the Northern region to serve the expanded immunization program. Hai Duong province will be provided with 61,000 doses of various vaccines, including 7,000 doses of the "5 in 1" vaccine (DPT-VGB-Hib).
Thus, the shortage of some types of vaccines, especially the "5 in 1" vaccine, which lasted throughout 2023 and some times this year, has ended. Mr. Huynh said that 7,000 doses of the "5 in 1" vaccine were provided enough to vaccinate children of age until the end of June.
From the beginning of the year to April 25, Hai Duong has provided 109,070 doses of various vaccines to medical facilities implementing the expanded immunization program. In the first 3 months of this year, the rate of children under 1 year old fully vaccinated in the province reached 16.4%, an increase of 5.9% over the same period in 2023; the rate of vaccination with the third dose of the "5 in 1" vaccine reached 20.6%, an increase of 5.9%; the vaccination rate of many other vaccines also increased significantly.
In the first 3 months of the year, the whole province only recorded 180 children with normal reactions after vaccination such as swelling and redness at the injection site, rash, no cases of severe reactions were recorded.
