Hai Duong won 7 medals at the Hai Duong Open Chess Tournament

On the afternoon of October 8, the Vietnam Chess Federation and the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism jointly organized the closing ceremony of the 2nd Hai Duong Open Chess Tournament 2023 for the Blue Horse Cup at the Provincial Sports Gymnasium.

The organizers awarded prizes to the winning athletes in the open age group category.

The Organizing Committee awarded 18 gold medals, 18 silver medals, 36 bronze medals in the men's and women's individual events; 18 gold medals, 18 silver medals, 36 bronze medals in the men's and women's team events in the age groups of 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 13 and the open age group; and awarded more than 130 consolation prizes. The Organizing Committee also presented gifts to disabled athletes and the youngest athletes.

Giving gifts to disabled athletes

This year's tournament gathered nearly 1,000 players from 53 national chess delegations, an increase of more than 200 athletes compared to last year. The players played 8 rapid chess games, each side having 20 minutes.

The tournament contributes to creating a healthy and useful playground for players to exchange, learn experiences, improve their performance; and encourage the movement of practicing chess in and outside the province.
