In the context of digital transformation, Hai Duong needs to maximize the benefits of digital technology to develop publishing, printing and distribution.

On the morning of November 15, the Department of Information and Communications of Hai Duong province organized a training conference on professional publishing, printing and distributing publications (printed books, pictures, photos, maps, posters, leaflets, calendars, audio and video recordings with content replacing books or illustrating books... licensed for publication) in 2024 in Hai Duong city.

The training session was directly taught by leaders of the Department of Publishing, Printing and Distribution (Ministry of Information and Communications) to nearly 150 delegates who were officers of the Department of Culture and Information (Hai Duong City Radio Station), cultural and social officials of communes and wards in the city and representatives of many printing, photocopying and distribution establishments in the area.

In the context of digital transformation, publishing, printing and distribution activities are strongly affected. Speed ​​and progress are one of the criteria to evaluate the efficiency of production and business in general, and publishing, printing and distribution activities in particular.

Therefore, publishers, printing establishments, distribution establishments... in the province in general, Hai Duong city in particular need to strongly apply the benefits of digital technology, develop digital products such as audiobooks, e-books... Thereby expanding the number of readers, expanding the scale of development in cyberspace.

In addition, the training session also mentioned a number of issues in managing publishing, printing and distributing publications such as illegal printing, intellectual property issues, document origin, risks of information leakage, cooperation with foreign printing enterprises, opening branches in other localities, etc.

This is the first training conference on this content organized by the Department of Information and Communications. Similar training content is expected to take place in the remaining localities of the province in 2025.

Nationwide, by August 2024, there will be 57 publishing houses, 2,500 industrial printing establishments, and 700 publication distribution establishments.

In Hai Duong, there are currently 4 printing and publishing establishments, about 100 establishments printing non-publication products, about 36 distribution establishments (including 4 distribution establishments: Hai Duong Book Distribution Joint Stock Company, with 10 branches, 4 business locations; Do Gia Trade and Culture Company Limited, with 2 business locations; Hai Duong Books and Educational Equipment Joint Stock Company; Bao Trang Books Company Limited; agents, private bookstores, stores/kiosks distributing, buying and selling books and newspapers of all kinds).
