This morning, the price of SJC gold bars increased by 2 million, to 120 million VND per tael, a difference of nearly 15 million VND compared to the world gold price.
On the morning of April 18, Saigon Jewelry Company (SJC) listed the price of gold bars at 117 - 120 million VND/tael, an increase of 1.5 million VND for buying and 2 million VND for selling compared to the end of yesterday.
Other brands have also raised the price of this type of gold accordingly, but the supply on the market is very scarce. The difference between buying and selling prices is currently around 3 million VND/tael.
At the same time, SJC kept the buying and selling price of gold rings at 114 - 117 million VND/tael. Meanwhile, Bao Tin Minh Chau sharply increased the buying and selling price of gold rings to 116.5 - 119.5 million VND/tael.
Gold prices in the international market have also continuously reached new peaks, but domestic gold prices are increasing at a faster and stronger rate. The price of each ounce of gold is about 3,350 USD, converted according to Vietcombank's selling rate, equivalent to 105.4 million VND/tael.
Accordingly, the difference between domestic and world gold prices is now over 14.5 million VND/tael. Thus, after nearly 1 year since the State Bank "fixed" the price of gold bars on the market, by selling intervention to 4 state-owned banks and SJC, the difference between gold prices and the world price has returned to the previous level.
