Promote propaganda on waste classification and treatment with diverse contents and forms of propaganda to the people. Further promote the role of socio-political organizations in implementing waste classification models. The district needs to have measures to mobilize enterprises and cooperatives to participate in the process of collecting and transporting waste. The monitoring delegation conducted a survey at the Toan Cau Craft Village Waste Treatment Plant in Hoang Dieu Commune.
Previously, the monitoring team conducted a field survey of the domestic waste landfill in Toan Thang commune, the Toan Cau craft village waste treatment plant in Hoang Dieu commune, and inspected the model of collecting, classifying, and processing organic waste into fertilizer at the source at households in Hoang Dieu commune.
According to the report of Gia Loc District People's Committee, the amount of domestic waste generated in Gia Loc District is about 89.8 tons per day. Of which, urban waste is 17.6 tons per day, rural waste is 72.2 tons per day. The whole district has 63 landfills in use with 110 waste collection teams and 258 waste collectors. Waste collection in towns, townships and central areas of communes is carried out daily. In the remaining areas, it is carried out on average 2-3 times per day. The waste collection rate is about 98%, in Gia Loc town it is 100%.
The district has 3 localities including Pham Tran, Yet Kieu, Gia Loc town, which transport domestic waste to the treatment plant of APT - Seraphin Hai Duong Environmental Joint Stock Company with a total amount of domestic waste processed of 27.7 tons/day, accounting for 30% of the total amount of daily domestic waste in the district. In the district, there is Toan Cau Craft Village Waste Treatment Plant in the trial operation phase, An Sinh Environmental Technology Joint Stock Company's Industrial Waste Treatment Plant, but there is no enterprise operating to collect, transport, and treat domestic waste.

Gia Loc District Department of Natural Resources and Environment in coordination with the Farmers' Association has implemented a model of classifying and treating household waste for households in communes and towns using compost bins to make organic fertilizer at home. The whole district has 11,883/45,735 households classifying waste at source, reaching nearly 26%.
According to the plan, this is the last supervision session of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council on the collection and treatment of domestic solid waste in Hai Duong province this time. It is expected that next week the Provincial People's Council willthere will be an interrogationrelevant agencies and unitson the above issue.
