However, despite the cold weather, many tourists still flock to the Forbidden City, now the National Palace Museum in Beijing, to take photos and visit.

Many tourists dress up in ancient Chinese dynasties to take souvenir photos when visiting the Forbidden City. Every few meters, you can see a "concubine" or "nương nương" here.

The Forbidden City is a palace complex in the Dongcheng District of Beijing, with a total area of over 700,000 square meters. The Palace Museum is located within the Forbidden City. The museum's art collections include objects from the Ming and Qing dynasties. The collection was also expanded in the 20th century with new acquisitions, transfers from other museums, and new archaeological discoveries.

Many families also bring their children to the Forbidden City to play in the snow.

The Forbidden City stands out against the white snow with its red tiled roof, walls and columns.

China has a four-tier weather warning system: red represents the most severe warning, followed by orange, yellow and blue. Orange warnings are for heavy snowfall, yellow warnings for icy roads that can cause slippery roads and traffic accidents, and blue warnings for cold waves.

To cope with the cold weather, primary schools, middle schools and kindergartens in Beijing began suspending classes in mid-December.

Beijing's freezing weather has caused problems for the city's subway system. Beijing's transport authority said hundreds of passengers were injured when two trains collided on icy tracks last month.
