Doan Quoc Dam launches a new "trick" in the TV series "Village in the City"

The film is about to air prime time on VTV1 channel.

Doan Quoc Dam is considered a "tricky" actor on the small screen because in each role, he invests his efforts, creating a unique impression in the hearts of the audience.

He will next appear in the TV series “Lang trong pho” (Director: Meritorious Artist Nguyen Mai Hien) and continue to impress with the role of Men “nat” – an alcoholic man. Because of alcohol, he suffered a near-death illness and lost his normal voice.

At the press conference to launch the film on July 19, Doan Quoc Dam said that in the film, transforming the voice was especially difficult because Men is a person who often "philosophizes" and has long lines while the fake voice is only suitable for short lines.

“I had difficulty because if I concentrated on compressing my vocal cords to speak in a fake voice, I couldn’t express the character’s emotions. On the contrary, when I fully expressed my emotions, I forgot and spoke in a normal voice,” the actor shared.

"Village in the City" is considered the sequel to "Pho in the Village" which will air in 2022. In the film, Men is a true "Chi Pheo", after many events, Men reforms and becomes a decent person.

In "Village in the City," Men and his brother Hieu (Duy Hung) have their fish pond area taken back by the commune to prepare the ground for building a factory. While Men continues to stay in the countryside, Hieu decides to go to the city to make a living. With a simple way of thinking, Hieu believes that he will quickly find a job and the whole family will soon be stable. However, for someone without a degree, without expertise, and with a hot temper like Hieu, life in the city is much more difficult. At the same time, in the countryside, Men also faces his own problems when his wife has a terminal illness.

Doan Quoc Dam in the new movie is a man who works hard and loves his wife and children.

According to director Mai Hien, each character in the film carries the dream of a bright future, but they have to face temptations, traps and tricks. Some people are lucky enough to find happiness, but there are also those who lack courage and fall. After all, the film promotes humanity, friendship, sharing, understanding and mutual support.

“Village in the City” shows that director Mai Hien is not only strong in political and crime films (“Sinh Tu”, “Crocodile File”, “Nguoi Phan Xu”), but is also very talented in exploiting stories about the fate of poor workers, people who come from the countryside to the city but still retain their simplicity and rusticity.

The cast he chose is also very suitable for each character and are all faces that have proven their abilities such as Doan Quoc Dam, Duy Hung, Tien Loc, Tran Van...

“Village in the City” will air at 9 p.m. every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday on VTV1, starting from July 31. The film is produced by the Television Drama Production Center, Vietnam Television.
