On May 24, the Department of Education and Training of Bien Hoa City (Dong Nai) announced that Tuoi Ngoc Kindergarten (Ward 11, An Binh Ward, Bien Hoa City) has decided to suspend teacher Nguyen Thi Bich Huong from work.

Initial information, on the afternoon of May 17, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thao (33 years old, living in An Binh ward) picked up her son HMH (2 years old, Ms. Thao's son) from school. After returning home, the family discovered many bruises on the boy's forehead and cheeks, so the boy's mother called Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich Huong (homeroom teacher of kindergarten 1) to ask about the incident. When questioned by the family, Ms. Huong admitted to beating the boy during lunch that same day.
The boy's family then reported the incident to the police. An Binh ward police verified the camera footage and invited the school representative, teacher Nguyen Thi Bich Huong, to work with the student's parents.
Working with the authorities, Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich Huong admitted that during lunchtime on May 17, she used her hand to hit baby HMH. Through extracting the school's camera, An Binh Ward Police confirmed that Ms. Huong had hit the 2-year-old boy with her hand a total of 31 times on the left cheek.
In addition, at the time Ms. Huong abused HMH, another nanny was also present in the classroom, witnessed the incident but did not take any measures to stop it.
Tuoi Ngoc Kindergarten decided to suspend Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich Huong from work on May 18.
An Binh Ward Police have reported the incident to Bien Hoa City Police and Bien Hoa City Department of Education and Training for resolution.
