On March 7, the delegation of the Islamic Hamas Movement left the capital Cairo (Egypt) after failing to achieve any breakthrough in the round of negotiations between the movement and mediators on a ceasefire for the conflict between Hamas and the Gaza Strip.

Al-Qahera News quoted a senior official confirming the information, saying that negotiations would continue next week, but did not specify a specific time.

The talks did not include an Israeli delegation. However, Hamas, along with mediators from Egypt, Qatar and the United States, have been working hard to reach a ceasefire to end the nearly five-month conflict in the Gaza Strip.

Under the proposed deal, the negotiators would seek a ceasefire lasting at least six weeks, allowing Hamas to release the remaining hostages held in Gaza and Israel to free hundreds of Palestinian prisoners.

Regarding the international community’s efforts to provide aid to the needy people in Gaza, Türkiye said it has provided the largest-ever aid package to the people of the Mediterranean coastal strip. The aid package is being carried out through the Turkish Red Crescent Society. About 3,000 tons of aid, including food, medicine and medical equipment, have left Türkiye and are en route to the Egyptian port of Al-Arish.

On social network X, Turkish Ambassador to Cairo Salih Mutlu Sen emphasized that the aid will help support Palestinians in Gaza during the Muslim holy month of Ramadan, which this year begins on March 10.

Türkiye has already delivered thousands of tons of aid to Gaza and has repeatedly called for a ceasefire in the coastal strip. Ankara has also warned of consequences if the parties do not reach a ceasefire agreement before the start of Ramadan.

According to the assessment of the United Nations international aid organizations, the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip is getting worse, especially in the north. Meanwhile, many international organizations are unable to carry out aid activities due to security conditions. The World Food Program (WFP) announced on March 5 that it had been unsuccessful in its efforts to restore relief distribution activities to Palestinians in the Gaza Strip who are currently on the brink of famine.

Despite this, humanitarian aid efforts to Gaza are still underway. Countries including the United States, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Egypt have airdropped humanitarian aid to people in northern Gaza.
