According to the UN General Assembly's announcement, the voting results on the above resolution showed that 143 countries voted in favor, 5 countries voted against (including Russia, Syria, Nicaragua, North Korea and Belarus) while 35 countries abstained (including India and China...).

Speaking at the meeting, Ambassador Dang Hoang Giang, Head of the Permanent Mission of Vietnam to the United Nations, affirmed that Vietnam closely follows and is particularly concerned about recent developments in Ukraine, emphasizing the need to ensure compliance with the UN Charter and basic principles of international law, including non-interference in internal affairs, non-use or threat of use of force in international relations, peaceful settlement of disputes in accordance with international law, and especially the principle of respecting the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of nations.

The Ambassador emphasized that stemming from a history of having to go through many wars to gain independence, unify and protect the Fatherland, Vietnam understands the value of peace and opposes all acts of threatening or using force to violate the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of nations.

Therefore, Vietnam continues to call for ending conflicts, restoring peace, protecting the security and safety of people and essential infrastructure, persistently promoting dialogue and negotiations to find long-term peaceful solutions to disagreements on the basis of appropriate and thorough respect for international law and the UN Charter, taking into account the legitimate interests and concerns of relevant parties, for peace and stability in the region and the world.

Vietnam also welcomes and supports diplomatic efforts to help reduce tensions, including those of the UN Secretary-General and other relevant parties, and expressed its readiness to actively contribute to diplomatic efforts and the reconstruction and recovery process in Ukraine.
