Two former directors of the Vietnam Register and 123 defendants have their prison sentences reduced.

Among the 137 defendants brought to trial, two former directors of the Vietnam Register, Dang Viet Ha and Tran Ky Hinh, and 123 other defendants had their prison sentences reduced.

Two former directors of the Registry Department asked for a reduced sentence after receiving heavy sentences for accepting bribes.

Mr. Dang Viet Ha and Tran Ky Hinh, former Director of the Vietnam Register, said that the 19 and 25 year prison sentences were too harsh, so they appealed.
Deputy Director of the Registration Center confessed and denounced the former Director of the Registration Department.

Defendant Tran Anh Tu (Deputy Director in charge of Inspection Center 50-05V) confessed and filed a complaint against former Director of the Inspection Department Dang Viet Ha for accepting bribes.

Ho Chi Minh City police have just completed the investigation conclusion, proposing to prosecute 254 defendants, including 2 former directors of the Vietnam Register.
