Khanh Thi's 8-year-old son - Phan Hien won a gold medal, setting a Vietnamese dancesport record

According to Khanh Thi, Minh Cuong (nicknamed Kubi) and his dance partner Linh San won the highest ranking in the children's category for the Latin category on March 26 in Italy.

Khanh Thi, her husband Phan Hien and their son went to Italy with the intention of letting their son get used to the competition environment. "My husband and I told each other: Dad is the main competitor, it's lucky that he didn't fail the qualifying round. Who would have thought that he would win the gold medal!", she wrote.

Khanh Thi and her husband both cried when they heard their son's name being announced as the top performer in the category he competed in. According to her, her son had set a record for Vietnamese dancesport by winning an international gold medal at the age of 8.

Khanh Thi added: "My husband - Mr. Hien made the whole family proud when he won the Asian Indoor Games 2009 solo dance championship, the SEA Games solo dance championship and the 2023 Southeast Asian Latin All-Around Championship.

But now you are better than me! You are the next generation of my wife and I. The moment the Vietnamese National Anthem was played at the Syllabus World Championship 2023 awards ceremony, neither my wife nor I could hold back our tears."

Boy Nguyen Minh Cuong, born in 2015, is said to be emotional, kind and always caring for others.

Since childhood, Minh Cuong has been used to his parents being away from home often. In many of Khanh Thi's family vlogs, he often cries when video calling to ask about his parents while they are working abroad.

The boy is thoughtful and always tries to help his parents bond more. Phan Hien once shared that Minh Cuong often prays "I hope my parents will always love each other" before going to bed. His actions made Khanh Thi feel tormented, thinking that because she and her husband often argued and dragged suitcases out of the house, it affected the child.

At the age of eight, Minh Cuong was often praised by the audience for his good looks and handsome appearance like his father and for inheriting his parents' talents. Around the age of 2-3, he began to show his passion for dancesport.

Khanh Thi does not teach her child to dance because she is afraid of losing her child's creativity. She and her husband do not force their child to pursue dancesport, but only stand behind and create conditions and help their child pursue his passion and dream.

Before the Syllabus World Championship 2023, Minh Cuong had achieved many impressive achievements such as winning 7 gold medals at the 2022 Linedance District 3 Open Artistic Dance Championship (winning the championship for the 3rd consecutive year); silver medal at the 2019 Dalat Dance and Sports Stars Festival...
