Khanh Hoa Club owes tens of billions of dong in signing-on fees, players stop training

According to VTC News December 8, 2023 08:13

Khanh Hoa Club has not practiced since December 8 because the players have owed a lot of money for a long time.

"We did not receive the unpaid signing-on fee on December 7 as expected, so the whole team decided to stop training from December 8. No one wanted this to happen, but the reality is that it is difficult and we really hope everything will be resolved," said a player of Khanh Hoa Club.

According to this player, the total amount of money owed by the players is very large, also reaching over tens of billions of VND. They have not received the 2 billion VND promotion bonus at the beginning of the 2023 season.

Many bonuses for matches have not been paid yet. However, Khanh Hoa players have agreed not to take the bonuses because they are beyond the team's ability to pay. They only hope to be paid a signing bonus.

Cầu thủ Khánh Hoà liên tục bị nợ tiền phí lót tay.

Khanh Hoa players are continuously owed signing fees.

The players are still owed 70% of the signing fee for the previous season, which the old sponsor had to pay but the unit handed over the team without paying. In the new season, the taking over unit has not paid the signing fee for the first leg of V.League 2023/2024.

Contrary to some rumors, Khanh Hoa Club players are not owed wages, their November salaries have just been paid.

Some other players said they were not unsympathetic to the general difficulties of many teams. But if the debts accumulate too much, the story of "bankruptcy" of Than Quang Ninh Club could appear again. At that time, the ones who suffer the most are the players, not anyone else.

Right in this season, 24 members of Ho Chi Minh City Club have just written a letter to demand the total debt of nearly 30 billion VND.

In round 5 of V.League, Khanh Hoa FC will face Binh Duong FC. The coastal team has left open the possibility of playing and is considering the option of stopping the competition. Khanh Hoa FC is at risk of losing 0-3 if they do not play. If they withdraw from the tournament midway, they will be relegated to the 2024/2025 National Third Division.
