Big fire at rice seed warehouse in Quang Nam, smoke column dozens of meters high

On the morning of October 7, the People's Committee of Dien Tho commune (Dien Ban town, Quang Nam province) said that a fire had just occurred at the rice seed warehouse of Dien Ban Agricultural Seed Joint Stock Company.

Specifically, at around 5 a.m. the same day, a large fire suddenly broke out at the company's rice seed warehouse, with a column of smoke dozens of meters high.

Discovering the fire, people joined in to put it out. However, because the fire was too big, they failed to put it out, so people called the authorities.

Upon receiving the news, the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department sent forces to the scene, after which the fire was controlled.

According to local authorities, the fire did not cause any casualties. However, the fire caused damage to rice seeds and the company’s property, but fortunately did not affect the seed source serving farmers.

The initial cause may have been an electrical short circuit inside the warehouse. Authorities continue to investigate and clarify the incident.
